CABLES TO GO 10ft SCSI-3 MD68M (THUMBSCREW) TO SCSI-1 C50M CABLE

Product Description

Ultra SCSI (or SCSI-3), is the latest of the ever improving SCSI standards, and is the cable of choice for such peripherals as the Iomega Zip Drive. It includes specifications for a single-ended as well as a differential bus style. The single-ended is similar to Fast SCSI-2, except it accommodates addressing up to 32 devices over a 16 bit single cable bus. This new style also increases data through-put up to 20 Mbps in single-ended applications. Single-ended SCSI-3 is limited to 4 devices over 3 meters or 8 devices over 1.5 meters. Differential SCSI refers to a bus configuration using two wires per signal, with the signal being derived by the voltage difference between the two wires. This approach effectively eliminates noise on the SCSI bus and allows bus length to increase up to 25 meters. If you need cables for differential Ultra SCSI applications, please call for help since they require different construction techniques.

Designed with a foil and braid shield overwrapping a twisted-pair construction, providing maximum immunity to EMI/RFI interference combined with a 132 Ohm impedance wire appropriate for faster bus speeds associated with SCSI-2. Shielding of the cable is meticulously handled by soldering 360 degrees from the shielding of the wire to the metal shell which shields the connector. The squeeze latches which fasten the cable to the device are solid, perfectly located for easy plug-in and removal, and ensure an on-going, dependable connection. Molded connectors provide strain relief and add additional protection against EMI/RFI interference.

* Connectors: Micro-Density 50-pin Male to DB-25 Male
* Cable Type: SCSI-2
* Primary Use: Connects a SCSI-1 peripheral to a SCSI-2 bus or vice-versa
* Applications: Scanners, zip drives, external storage devices and other SCSI-1/2 peripherals

Specifications:

* Color: Beige
* Size: 6ft

Serial ATA (SATA) Cable, 150Mbps, 0.5 Meter (1.5 ft)

Product Description
Serial ATA Data Cable, 0.5 Meter (1.6 ft), 150Mbps. Serial ATA cable is a great deal smaller and so is less intrusive in the case. Also the IDE cable is limited to 40 CM in length while the serial ATA cable does not have this restriction. Why choose serial over the current Parallel data transfer method. Well there are two main reasons for this. Firstly, having data sent in parallel requires a lot of signal being sent at the same time, this causes electrical interference and can have problem, using serial transfer means you only need a send and receive signal. The second reason is if you are sending data in parallel you have to have a lot more wires. You know that an IDE cable can be a real pain when trying to keep a system cool and running smoothly. They also get in the way of other wires running throughout the system. All of the other data transfer standards we use today are based on the serial data transfer system, USB, Ethernet and Firewire.
